Vinegar Socks
Vinegar Socks are establishing themselves as one of the most important indie projects in
Italy. 2009 saw the band touring nationally, playing concerts with Kaki King and Joan as Policewoman
and working on the film soundtrack for "Dieci Inverni" (which premiered at the Venice film festival and
is currently preparing for international distribution). The band's reputation for sophisticated songwriting
and powerful shows is quickly spreading throughout Europe and America, earning them appearances on MTV, featured
performances on Italian national radio, and invites to perform in various major European cities.
The duo of Italian-American guitarist/singer/songwriter Jordan DeMaio and violinist Paolo Petrocelli has
recently been joined by upright bassist Matteo Locascuilli (son of Italian rock legend Mimmo Locasciulli).
The band spent the second half of 2009 working on their debut album (available in Europe in December) and
preparing for its release through Boston's Grinding Tapes.
